Throughout life, many women of all
ages get a pregnancy scare. Or maybe it is a miracle because you have been
trying to get pregnant for a long time. Either way once you think your pregnant
there are a few steps you need to go through.
- Don't Panic: Before you know for sure if you are
pregnant don't go and have a nervous breakdown. What are my parents going
to say? How will I finish school? The best thing for you to do is calm
down and process everything that is happening. Each conflict you encounter
will happen at a given time, it is not healthy to try and take them all on
at once. For those who have been trying to get pregnant, don’t go out and
start buying baby clothes or anything like that. The beginning of a pregnancy
is a very delicate time. Until you are four months along it is possible
that you can lose your baby, because of a miscarriage. Also up until that
point you will not know that sex of the baby.
- Pay close attention to changes within your body. If you
just had unprotected sex the night before don’t expect to start throwing
up the very next day. It is going to take a couple weeks to start showing
signs of pregnancy. Also the hormone HCG will not be present in your urine
until right before your missed period.
Changes in your body that you should look out for
- Swollen or tender breasts
- More vaginal secretion (milky
white)
- Frequent urination
- Constipation
- Sensitivity to certain smells
- Spotting of blood close to
your period
- Stomach pains
- Headaches
- Lack of motivation
- If many of these
signs are happening to you, the best route is to buy a pregnancy test.
Though you might want to wait a little while because the HCG hormone won’t
appear in a test yet. If the test comes up negative you still could be
pregnant. I suggest you wait a week and take another one if your menstrual
cycle has not occurred yet. If the first test comes up positive, you could
take another one in a few days to be sure. But chances are the hormone has
been detected and you are pregnant.
*The most significant signal that
you are pregnant is a missed period *
Good Luck with everything. I hope it
all works out for you.
